QUESTIONS ASKED AND ANSWERED
Here are answers to some of the questions that parents often ask us before they join.
Q: Can I have the same Babysitter each time I book?
A: This really depends on whether they have availability.
Q: Can Nannyplondon provide care for my children during the day (child daycare)?
A: Possibly. All of our Babysitters do work during the day but we do sometimes have availability, please confirm with your chosen Babysitter.
Q: I have some uncertainty about leaving my children with someone I don't know, wouldn't you?
A: Of course, this is only natural, but a majority of our Babysitters live in the SE1 area so the chances are you already know them.
Q: Do I have to pay the Babysitter for travelling time?
A: No, but remember if you arrive home after 10.00pm we do ask you to pay for a Taxi home.
Q: Why is there a minimum booking of two hours?
A: In order to ensure that our Babysitters are willing to give up their evening to look after your children.
Q: Can we meet the Babysitter beforehand?
A: If you are really keen to meet the Babysitter before a booking we suggest you book a play date or you can arrange for the Babysitter to arrive 30 minutes before you leave so you can then discuss any concerns you might have before you leave for the evening.
Q: Are all Babysitters police checked?
A: A majority of our Babysitters have been cleared through the DBS check as part of their OFSTED Registration or current job position. European Nannies/Manny's working for families have not yet been required to obtain DBS checks and for this reason we are very thorough in following up references with previous employers.
Q: Is there a maximum number of children per babysitting?
A: Yes, we consider more than 5 children a job for Two Babysitters.
Q: Can you provide care for my child who has special needs?
A: We would like to say yes but there are only a couple of Babysitters who have cared for Special Needs Children, please check the profiles of the Babysitters before booking.
Q: How much notice do you need if I want to book a Babysitter?
A: Please give us as much notice as possible, we will always try to meet those spontaneous last minute needs - even if we're given as little as four hours notice. However, thankfully, most bookings are made with three or more days notice and we're quite happy to take your bookings two or three months ahead. The more notice you give us the better your chance of booking your preferred Babysitter before someone else does.
Q: What time does the service start and do sitters stay after midnight?
A: Most of our babysitters have commitments to their own families so they are usually available to babysit for you from 7pm. It is often possible to arrange babysitting to start earlier if we are able to give the babysitter a few days notice. Most babysitters are prepared to sit until close to midnight or occasionally even later.
Special childcare rates for special circumstances
There are slightly higher Babysitter rates of pay for Special dates such as Christmas, New Year's Eve or Valentine's Day and any bank holidays, these are subject to change but are currently £18 per hour, per babysitter.
